Minutes of the 83rd Moses Reunion
July 30th, 2005
The meeting began at 1:40pm on a beautiful day at the Moses Homestead site. 56 people were in attendance.
Jack Moses was presiding due to the absence of our president, Nancy Barnes, who had a conflicting event. He thanked Barbara Button for having us at their place this year.
Announcement letters which were returned were passed around to see if anyone knew the current addresses of the people involved.
Awards were presented to the following people;
- Traveled the farthest: Bernie Hinman coming from St. Augustine, Florida
- Oldest: Bernie Hinman – 85 years old
- Youngest: Maisy Wood – 1 year old
- Wholly Moses Award: Doug Webb – for bringing us into the 21st century with his work on the web page.
New Business;
- It was decided that we try having a white elephant sale at next year’s reunion in an effort to have fun and to add to our depleted treasury. People are encouraged to bring items to be auctioned off.
- We also discussed making up T-shirts with our family tree on it. This has been done at other reunions with success. Pictures of one such T-shirt were shown. Again, any profit would be added to our treasury.
- Jack suggested that we have next year’s reunion announcement on the web site and just send out postcards as a reminder. This would cut down on expenses quite a bit. The idea was met with approval.
- Jack asked for nominations for presidency. Bonnie Ballard gallantly came forward to help out. We are all grateful for her willingness to carry the baton for a while.
- Jack remains our Vice President and Gale Brown our secretary/treasurer.
Treasurer’s Report;

Web Page Account
Balance on hand: $ 45.00. This money was given to Doug Webb to defray the cost of maintaining the website. Any donations to this account are appreciated.
Expenses with the website include $75 startup cost to hold the name www.mosesreunion.org for 5 years, and $1/month maintenance fee. Jack Moses paid the initial $75 out-of-pocket. Doug received another $10 designated for the website for a total of $55, so the monthly costs are covered for another four years.
