Minutes of the 85th Moses Reunion
July 28, 2007

The meeting was called to order by the President, Bonnie Ballard, at 1:55. Once again we enjoyed the beauty of Moses Lake cottage and the hospitality of Barbara Button and Sue Brown. It was a humid day in the 80’s with a breeze. A mixture of sun and clouds kept us wondering whether it would rain on us or not but our luck held and we remained dry. Thirty-six people were in attendance.

We welcomed Harry Moses III and his daughter, Larita Paulsen who came all the way from Washington State just to attend the reunion for the first time. They heard about our little family through Doug Webb Jr. and the internet. Good job, Doug! What a treat it was to meet these wonderful people who came bearing gifts of baskets full of goodies from Washington State.

Awards were issued as follows:

Mandy Barnes was at the ready with games for the kids but unfortunately there were no children to entertain.

Alex Moses and Doug Webb Jr. won the guess-how-many in the jar contest.

Officers were chosen for next year. We are delighted to have Doug Webb Jr. as our new president. Jack Moses will remain our vice-president, and Bonnie Ballard will be our new secretary.

Barbara Button and Sue Brown graciously and perhaps heroically invited us back next year. I’m sure they must be motivated by the coveted Wholly Moses Award. Even so, their offer was eagerly and unanimously accepted. An appeal was made to bring tables and chairs if possible.

If anyone wants to fish in Moses Lake, they should have a PA license to do so. However, Bob Auchinachie has invited anyone to visit the homestead and no license is needed to fish in his pond. Thank you, Bob, for such a generous offer.

Barbara Button told us about the Moses Camp Legacy LLC organization which is in charge of the cottage at Moses Lake. Donations to this fund are welcome. It was agreed that we again donate $50 to the camp fund.

A Brackney Cemetery Committee was created consisting of Jack Moses, Bob Auchinachie and Dennis Button.

The business portion of our meeting ended at 2:45, after which, we held the Chinese Auction / Silent Auction.
